2012 Arena Pass Registration Open. Realm Coming April 24th. Plus Battle.net World Championship 2012.

Published April 11, 2012 | Ceon

Unfortunately, in the 543th communications disaster of Cataclysm, the Arena Pass realm will not go live until the 24th of April. This is only partly Blizzards fault. You can, however, now register for the Arena Pass. Last year Blizzard announced that registration for the Arena Pass was open on the 5th of May and did not mention when the Arena Pass Realm would actually go live. This occurred on the 11thof May last year.

Firstly apologises for my previous post which erroneously stated the Arena Pass was going to start April 10th. The previous structure of the Arena Pass should have told me different. However, Blizzard needs to improve their announcement of the Arena Pass in the future. A simple sentence in the registration announcement last week stating the Arena Pass Realm would go live on a specific date or in the near future would have taken little effort and clarified the matter for the community.

Let’s now take a look at the details and structure of this year’s Arena Pass Realm coming your way April 24th. We’ll also take a look at the Blizzard Invitational 2012.

Mists of Pandaria: Resilience Will Fix It…Maybe….

Published April 5, 2012 | Ceon

Resilience will fix it has long been a phrase used to poke fun at how resilience is all too often presented as our saviour—the be all and end all solution to all our PvP problems. Even Blizzard themselves have made fun of the phrase, naming an achievement after it in Trial of the Crusader. Yet, while resilience certainly won’t solve every issue with PvP in Mists of Pandaria, the mechanic is receiving a complete overhaul and this has potential to solve a number of long standing issues with PvP.

Blizzard has two main aims behind this overhaul. Firstly, Blizzard wants PvP gear to be better both offensively and defensively in PvP than PvE gear. Secondly, they also want to lower the barrier to entry for PvE geared players to enter PvP and make PvP gear more useful in PvE. They intend to do this by adding an offensive element to resilience and giving a significant amount of classic, damage reduction, resilience as baseline in Mists of Pandaria.

Today we’ll be discussing this new mechanic and why, if handled correctly, we could see the end of PvE gear in rated PvP and the betterment of PvP all together.

Potentially Lucrative Guide to Diablo 3′s RMAH

Published April 5, 2012 | markco

Easy, Fun, AND Profitable?!
The primary thought behind this guide is that you can do all the instructions without breaking up your “fun” time while playing the game. It won’t take long to post your items and you’re just going to collect most of them naturally while playing (unless instructed to buy some). This is a guide to enjoying the game during the first month while still taking advantage of some insane money making opportunities. You’ll always be leveling and positioning yourself naturally for the next big chance to earn some cash playing Diablo 3.

Keep in mind that a lot of the following advice is meant to be absurdly simple and easy to follow. The reasoning and decision making behind why this advice will work is far more complicated than it appears to be. This was done on purpose, and if you want to debate any part of the article, feel free to add a comment to this post. I’ll try my best to elaborate and answer your questions.

Day One

Main Goals for Day 1:

  • Sell Gold
  • Save Gold
  • Sell Items from Bosses

Taking the Easy Way Out

Some people will want gear early on so that the leveling process is faster. I know lots of players that bought rare quality items as low as level 3 in order to one shot their enemies and get out of the starting area faster. Since crafting will probably be way too expensive at this point in the game, and no one has gold to buy anything anyway, your best bet is to sell the random rare loot you find on bosses early on. You have like a 100% chance of finding rare loot solo the first time you kill a boss or mini-boss, so odds are you will find a few valuable pieces on the first day no matter what. Sell them on the RMAH for a quick profit.

2012 World of Warcraft Arena Pass Starts April 10

Published April 3, 2012 | Ceon

The 2012 World of Warcraft Arena Pass is coming next week!

We’re pleased to announce that the 2012 World of Warcraft Arena Pass is nearly here. Starting April 10, players will be able to sign up to compete against like-minded individuals in a dedicated Arena sandbox. The Arena Pass service will feature access to Arena Pass realms with level-85 character templates and epic gear from Cataclysm.

As an added bonus, we have included an exclusive reward that players can earn by purchasing their Arena Pass and participating in the competition — an Armored Murloc in-game pet. Top players will also contend for a chance to achieve the “Vanquisher” title for their live characters. Players that choose to take part in the 2012 Arena Pass will also receive access to a special level-90 realm with upgraded epic gear after the upcoming Mists of Pandaria expansion is released and they’ve upgraded their accounts.

If you would like to demonstrate your Arena prowess, are eager for a chance to earn the exclusive loot, or just want to reserve a spot in the level-90 Mists of Pandaria Arena Pass realm, please check back next week for more details and be sure to register!

This part is interesting:

Players that choose to take part in the 2012 Arena Pass will also receive access to a special level-90 realm with upgraded epic gear after the upcoming Mists of Pandaria expansion is released and they’ve upgraded their accounts.

A PvP testing ground once Mists of Pandaria goes live. Sounds good.
