In case you are not familiar with what Humble Bundle is, let me explain it quickly. You pay how much you want for a bundle of indie games. The money you pay, you can distribute as you want between game developers, charity organizations and the company hosting this sale. If you pay more than the average of $7.64, you can unlock a bonus game, which is Bastion this time around. You also receive the soundtracks of all the games in FLAC or MP3 format. Want steam product keys? No problem, they are included. Are you excited already?
Let me just tell you the latest edition of Humble Indie Bundle comes with the best games it ever has (in my opinion anyway). Titles like Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Psychonauts, Limbo, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP + Bastion speak for themselves.
Let’s take a closer look at them in case you’re unfamiliar with them.
Favourite game of Lord Hydra. Period. It’s a first person survival horror. Explore a desolated castle and find out what secrets are buried within it. Immerse yourself in these frightening surroundings and experience nightmares that will scare shit out of you.
Wondering what Amnesia can do to you? Just watch Hydra playing it here:
You can find more Amnesia videos on his youtube channel. They are worth the watch.
Another creepy game, but instead of being survival horror, it’s a puzzle-solving platformer. The beautiful, mysterious, eerie story of a boy on a journey through Limbo, a land where everything is trying to kill him in a most vicious manner. The game soundtrack is nonexistent, so you might think it is terrible. However, you couldn’t be more wrong. Creepy sounds accompany you as you travel through this dark, shadowy world. The unique, black and white graphic style of this title has charmed me like no other game in a long time. I recommend you play this game at night with the lights out to make experience even better.
Psychonauts is a quite unique adventure game with strongly exposed action elements. You take control of a little boy with paranormal abilities called Rasputin. In your journey through the game, the powers of telekinesis, levitation and invisibility will help you solve the games mysteries. The most interesting aspect of Psychonauts (which distinguish it from other similar games) is that you have a chance to explore other people’s minds. Literately.
Now this is a weird game. Graphics are lacking a little, but it’s an indie game after all. The PC version of this adventure game was released before on the iPad in 2011. This game revolves on a classic point-n-click interface, so if you like to search through every location in order to find tips that will help you solve the puzzles, this game is for you. To make it a little more interesting, you’ll experience simple combat sections from time to time.
Bastion is one of most original releases of 2011. The game itself is an action RPG, but don’t confuse it with Diablo by any means. Charming, hand – painted artwork dazes with its beauty. A critically acclaimed soundtrack and hours of narration will accompany you through exploring Calamity. Many weapon upgrades can be unlocked along with six Bastion structures to be discovered. Should you finish the main story, there is a New Game Plus mode waiting to be played through.
For me getting this bundle was a no-brainer. It contains so many great games for such a cheap price (you can always pay more, don’t let this “cheap price” discourage you). Plus you have a chance to support charity. Here are the links for both charity organizations, remember you can support one of them, none or all of them.
For THOSE CHILDREN!
